BIG ROOM is a conceptual shopping experience created in collaboration with O4shop, a consignment store based in Shanghai. It brings together restoration, exchange, and performance to redefine how people engage with furniture, objects, and the spaces they occupy. At its heart, BIG ROOM is a dialogue—between the past and present, between objects and their stories, and between art and everyday life.

At the center of the exhibition are seven PILOT modular sofas, each displayed on pedestals crafted from a total of 1,068 fully recycled bricks salvaged from old projects. Surrounding the sofas are curated collections of old objects, sourced from the streets and alleyways of Shanghai, giving them new context and meaning. The space is animated by live performances and interactive trade sections, inviting guests to exchange their own household items for others, play ping pong, or enjoy a curated film screening. BIG ROOM blurs the lines between a communal living room and a shoppable store, immersing visitors in a space that feels at once intimate and transformative — as though stepping into someone’s home.
